“Why the butt?”
Why have I chosen your butt as a means to this end?
Because we all know we have to use it or lose it. But a lot of us have been too sad, stressed, or stunned to use it.
Because when you spend every moment of free time (I know: what’s that?) engulfed in your couch, face in your phone, glued to the news, not moving enough, not loving on yourself enough, not feeling much beyond anxiety…your ass gets stale.
Because stale, dysfunctional gluteals dial UP discomfort and dial DOWN pleasure.
it’s not about how your butt looks. it’s about how it works.
The Build-A-Butt Adventure, like everything I do, is less about your external beauty (which, my loves, is already prodigious) and more about practical tools and strategies to keep you functional, whole, and joyful. Last week HALF my students messaged me before yoga class to say they had sacro-iliac joint problems. SI joint pain, knee pain, low back pain, even neck pain is often related to lack of gluteal strength. If your back has been killing you and you know you’ve been more sedentary since the pandemic, strengthening your glutes can only help.
So: decreased suffering. But also: increased joy!
Your gluteals are also HEAVILY INVOLVED in the fantastic, intricate symphony that is the functioning of your pelvic floor. And “pelvic floor functionality” is related to delightful, unmemorable pees and poops. Pelvic floor functionality is ALSO related to MEMORABLE orgasms!
